Ihorangi Reweti Peters is a passionate advocate for system change, drawing on his lived experience growing up in the care of Oranga Tamariki. He has held many roles across both the public and private sectors, including Co-Chair of Te Hiringa Mahara - the Mental Health and Wellbeing Commission’s Expert Advisory Group, Chair of VOYCE - Whakarongo Mai Te Waipounamu Regional Youth Council, Rangatahi Advisor to Oranga Tamariki, Subject Matter Expert for the Oranga Tamariki Ministerial Advisory Board, and Advisor to the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in State and Faith-based Care Institutions.
