Our Tohu | Logo

Our tohu (logo) incorporates three core elements. The main symbol is a Mangopare (a species of the Hammerhead shark), multiple Koru and the infill lines are known as Ahu Ahu Mataroa. Together they represent our unrelenting pursuit of what is right and just. We are very persistent; we want to see all people and families, our clients and in particular tāngata whenua flourishing and thriving in abundance; self-directing and achieving their dreams and aspirations with mana, hope and optimism. We welcome new challenges, and we challenge others to deliver outcomes derived from better systems and services. We are believers in the beauty of mātauranga Māori (Māori knowledge systems) and its healing power for intergenerational oranga | wellbeing.

Our Kaupapa | Mission

Supporting success with integrity.

Success relates to people, organisations, systems, and environments, such as te taiao.

Our Wawata | Vision

Mana, Mauri and Manawaroa
Agency, Vitality and Resilience

Our country’s founding documents influence our approach

We recognise He Whakaputanga o te Rangatiratanga o Nu Tireni and Te Tiriti o Waitangi as founding documents of Aotearoa New Zealand. We acknowledge the importance of these agreements and strive to act in ways that honour their positive intention.

This means we work in mutually beneficial partnerships with our clients - Māori and non-Māori - and the stakeholders and whānau that we engage with as part of our mahi. We acknowledge our respect for local Crown/Māori and iwi partnerships and relationships. We tautoko and seek to add value to the local context.

Te Ao Māori, Mātauranga Māori and Mātauranga-ā-iwi are important to us

We recognise the beauty, inspiration and wisdom of te ao Māori and mātauranga Māori. We believe that the Māori world view and knowledge system is a unique and strengths-focused way of solving problems and enabling whānau, hapū, iwi and hapori to thrive. Te ao Māori and mātauranga Māori provide us with a sophisticated system of knowing, doing and being to benefit tāngata whenua and tāngata tiriti.

We also acknowledge mātauranga-ā-iwi. The specific mātauranga that emanates from and is applied by mana whenua. This knowledge is a critical foundation to any local solution. We honour mana whenua in all that we do.
